Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Last updated 11 August 2026
1. Introduction
Crawlink Networks Private Limited (“us”, “we”, “our”) operates crawlink.com (the “Service”). This policy explains what happens to information when you visit the site or engage us for work, and it forms part of your agreement with us together with our Terms and conditions.
2. The short version
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers.
- Our free tools run entirely in your browser — what you paste into them is never uploaded.
- We collect what you send us in an enquiry, so that we can reply to it.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to delete it.
3. Definitions
- Personal data — data about a living individual who can be identified from it.
- Usage data — data collected automatically, generated by use of the Service or from its infrastructure, such as the duration of a page visit.
- Cookies — small files stored on your device.
- Data controller — the party that determines the purposes for which personal data is processed. For this Service, that is us.
4. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us through the site, by email or by phone, we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, email address, company and a description of your project. We use it to respond and, if we work together, to deliver the engagement.
Our contact form does not submit to a server. It opens your own email client with the details filled in, so nothing is stored on this site unless you actually send the message.
Usage data
Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, time and date, and error information. These are used to keep the Service running, secure and performing correctly.
Our free tools
The utilities under /tools process everything locally in your browser using JavaScript. Text you paste into a formatter, encoder or hash generator is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. This is deliberate, so they are safe to use with data you would not put into an arbitrary website.
Cookies and local storage
We use local storage to remember your light or dark theme preference. It is stored on your device, is not personal data, and is not transmitted to us. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you engage us for;
- To operate, maintain and improve the Service;
- To send you information you have asked for, or which is relevant to work in progress;
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues and abuse;
- To comply with legal and accounting obligations.
6. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating and securing our business, or a legal obligation.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out here. Enquiry correspondence is kept while a relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records required for tax and accounting purposes are kept for the period the law requires. Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider and then discarded.
8. Disclosure
We may disclose personal data:
- to service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract;
- to comply with a legal obligation or a valid request by a public authority;
- to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of our users;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
We do not sell or rent personal data.
9. Service providers
We use third parties to run the Service — including hosting and content delivery providers, and email providers. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Some operate outside India, so data may be processed in other countries.
10. Security
Traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit. We take reasonable commercial measures to protect personal data, but no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase the personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email support@crawlink.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within 30 days.
12. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows the current revision, and material changes will be signposted on the site. You are advised to review this page periodically.
